- the preparation of Statements of Requirements in accordance with the clients specific needs;
- the nomination of second-hand ships, buoys, risers or floating offshore structures which would be suitable for conversion or modification;
- the conduct surveys of the clients preferred vessels and ancillary equipment and the provision of reports on the suitability for intended use;
- undertake/assist, where necessary, in negotiations with maritime unions regarding the manning and habitability of newly acquired or proposed ships and floating offshore structures;
- undertake/assist in negotiations with national authorities and classification societies on matters relating to statutory requirements for newly acquired or proposed ships, floating offshore structures, moorings and production facilities;
- the issuing of tenders and evaluation of tender responses;
| - undertake/assist in negotiations with tenderers and development of final contract specifications;
- post contract approval of shipyard supplied drawings and documents;
- nominate, witness, evaluate and approve ship or floating offshore structure model tests;
- undertaking/assisting direct project management relating to ship or floating offshore structure new-building, conversion or modification contracts. This may include on site supervision, co-ordination and approval of contract modifications, acceptance of milestones for progress payments, etc;
- nominating, witnessing and approving full scale ship and floating offshore structure performance trials;
- acting as client representative at inclining experiments; and
- evaluating and approving guarantee claims relating to newly acquired tonnage and assist in negotiation of guarantee settlements.
