Physical Model Testing

Ship & Offshore undertakes/assists clients in the conduct of physical model testing of ships or offshore structures. This may include the specification of scope of test programmes, calling and evaluation of tenders, supervision of test programmes post award and the correlation of test results with full scale data. Typical areas of model testing experience are:-

motions;
jacket launch trajectory, and upending;
ship resistance;
jacket and module transportation setting/docking;
mooring response in waves, including survival conditions;

ship powering and manoeuvrability;
ship and offshore structure motion response in waves;
heavy lift tandem crane installation of jackets; and
platform strengthening devices, docking and installation.
