Marine Transport Studies

Ship & Offshore conducts economic and technical feasibility studies on behalf of clients considering either entering into new shipping routes, with existing or new tonnage, or gaining better returns in existing trade routes. With respect to the latter, studies may be conducted into the whole spectrum of a client’s trade in order to nominate opportunities for cost saving in the ‘door to door’ sense. From these studies it may be possible to highlight areas where new technology in ship design, ship handling equipment, port facilities, etc., could yield benefits in cost reduction. Manpower reduction, where possible, is a major consideration.

We can also conduct economic and technical feasibility studies on behalf of clients wishing to transport unusually heavy or bulky equipment by sea, to determine the most cost effective means of transportation. This may include the nomination of a particular vessel, departure date and rate, and acting with shippers to ensure shipment occurs to plan.
