Marine and Offshore Engineering

Ship & Offshore provides clients with specialist knowledge and calculations in naval architecture, marine, structural and offshore engineering. This work includes:-

  • intact (static and dynamic) and damaged stability assessment to client’s nominated rule requirements;
  • ship or offshore structure weight and moment calculations;
  • co-ordination and conduct of inclining experiments, including the production of trim and stability booklets to the approval of statutory authorities;
  • advice regarding IMO, SOLAS and MARPOL regulations as they apply to a particular ship or offshore structure;
  • propulsion and auxiliary machinery selection and/or replacement studies;
  • electrical load analyses and selection and/or replacement studies for electrical plant;
  • ship or offshore structure structural analysis to classification society or other requirements, including using finite element methods;
  • ship or offshore structure launch and docking calculations;
  • ship or offshore structure motion analysis in seaway; and
  • shock, noise and vibration analysis.
